What to Expect from Neck Liposuction
During your personalized consultation, our surgeons will listen to your concerns and discuss your options with you. If submental liposuction is the best choice for you and you feel comfortable moving forward with surgery, your procedure will be scheduled.
Your procedure will be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation. Your surgeon will begin by making small, inconspicuous incisions that are easily hidden, often located in the natural crease below the chin or even behind the earlobe. Through these incisions, your surgeon will use a small, hollow tube called a cannula to suction excess fat from the area, carefully following the natural line of your jaw and neck to ensure natural-looking results*.
Once the desired results* have been achieved and your surgeon has sculpted a more pleasing neck contour, your incisions will be sutured and dressed. You will be able to return home the same day, though it is recommended that you have a designated driver and someone to help you out for the remainder of the day until the effects of anesthesia or IV sedation wear off.
