Rhinoplasty (Nose Job) in Washington D.C.

If you are troubled by a nose that is crooked or out of balance with the rest of your face, you may want to consider rhinoplasty also called a nose job. Many people from Washington, DC; Chevy Chase and Bethesda, MD; Arlington and Fairfax, VA; and surrounding areas benefit from this nose-reshaping and often life-changing procedure. Our rhinoplasty specialists perform cosmetic nose surgery to change or improve the shape of the nose. It is also used in conjunction with a septoplasty or turbinate reduction procedure to correct nasal breathing problems. When this procedure addresses functional problems, your insurance may cover some of the costs.

The initial consultation also includes computer imaging to show patients a simulation of possible results. After surgery, all of our patients are seen by their surgeons to assess the healing process, address concerns, and answer questions. • How Is Rhinoplasty Performed?

Incisions are made inside the nose and are closed with dissolving sutures. If the nostrils must be narrowed, there may be small incisions and removable sutures at the nostril rim. These sutures are taken out 5 days after surgery. A splint will be removed about one week after surgery.

How Long Does It Take To Recover From Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty patients typically return to work, school, and other everyday activities after 7 to 10 days. You may participate in non-contact exercise 2 weeks after surgery, but you should avoid contact athletics for 6 weeks.

How Long After Rhinoplasty Will I See My Results?

As most of the bruising and swelling fades over the first 10 to 14 days after surgery, the shape of the nose gradually improves. It typically takes 6 months to a year after rhinoplasty for the nose to be fully healed and reach its new, enhanced shape.
