Chemical Peels in Washington D.C.

Sun damage and the loss of skin elasticity due to aging can cause most wrinkles.

As we age, the elastic fibers in the deeper layers of the dermis (the second layer of the skin) lose their strength, allowing the skin to sag and wrinkle. When fine wrinkles can’t be corrected by a facelift or blepharoplasty, we recommend chemical peels or microdermabrasion treatments to reduce—or in some cases, eliminate— these wrinkles. Our medspa patients from Washington, DC; Chevy Chase and Bethesda, MD; Arlington and Fairfax, VA; and surrounding areas can choose from a number of different types of peels.

What Are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are a non-invasive treatment used to improve the appearance of the skin by applying a chemical solution that exfoliates the outer layers. This process helps reveal smoother, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin. Chemical peels can address various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, acne scars, and enlarged pores.

At the Center for Plastic Surgery, we offer a range of chemical peel options tailored to your skin type and specific concerns. Whether you’re looking for a light peel to refresh your skin or a deeper treatment for more significant results, our team will work with you to achieve a radiant complexion.

TCA Peel

TCA (trichloroacetic acid) is a skin-resurfacing treatment that removes dead skin cells, revealing a new layer of skin that appears smoother and more vibrant. As a result, it softens fine lines, minimizes superficial age spots and other skin discolorations, and generally improves the tone and texture of your skin. This treatment can be a great alternative to laser treatments aimed at treating melasma or other discoloration. TCA peels are also very popular for diminishing the appearance of acne scars and can be performed at different depths, depending on your skin’s needs. This treatment can be performed on the entire face, or around the eye area.

ZO 3-Step Peel®

The ZO 3-Step Peel® is a highly effective treatment to address the many signs of skin aging. This peel can treat melasma, sun damage, fine lines, uneven texture, large pores, dull skin, and acne. It is also safe to use on any skin type and color. This peel is performed in the following 3 steps:

1.

The peel solution is applied to exfoliate the skin.

2.

The Stimulating Retinol Crème is applied to stimulate cellular function at a deep level for collagen enhancement.

3.

The Calming Crème is applied to minimize inflammation and restore moisture balance to the skin.
