Nicole’s Story
I am a breast cancer thriver. [Dr. Kanuri] performed a miracle for me in the revision that he did to my breast cancer reconstruction surgery.
What everyone else said was complicated, he was willing to try. And he worked out a plan, consulted with other doctors, consulted with my prior plastic surgeon. Every step of the way he made sure that I knew about the risks, the possible outcomes.
He was willing to work out a plan to help me get to a place where I’m not just surviving in pain, but I can start thriving again.
01 — The Problem
Because of my reconstruction and the results and symptoms from my treatments — radiation being one of them — I was having a lot of pain, and literally getting up every day in pain.
02 — Five Other Doctors
I went to about five other doctors who told me that they were not comfortable doing surgery and doing the revision of my reconstruction because of the radiation and the radiated tissue.
03 — The Result
I have such an improved quality of life, because he was willing to do complicated.
