Breast Reconstruction Before & After

Patient 37 Breast Reconstruction Case #400

Description:

This patient underwent breast reconstruction following bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies. Reconstruction was performed in stages, beginning with placement of tissue expanders to gently and gradually recreate the breast shape, followed by a second procedure to exchange the expanders for permanent silicone gel implants. The after photos demonstrate restored breast contour, improved symmetry, and preservation of the natural nipple-areola complex, reflecting a balanced and natural-appearing reconstructive outcome.

Patient 38 Case #303

Description:

This patient underwent nipple-sparing mastectomies with tissue expander reconstruction followed by exchange to silicone gel implants.  She wanted to be larger.

Patient 39 Breast Reconstruction Case #304

Description:
Following a diagnosis requiring bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies, this patient underwent staged implant-based breast reconstruction beginning with placement of tissue expanders at the time of mastectomy. The expanders were gradually filled to preserve the breast skin envelope and create the desired breast shape before a second-stage procedure was performed to exchange the expanders for silicone gel implants.

Now 15 years after reconstruction, the patient continues to demonstrate a durable, natural-appearing result with excellent implant position, balanced breast symmetry, and preservation of the nipple-areola complex. Her long-term outcome highlights the ability of nipple-sparing mastectomy with implant reconstruction to restore breast contour while maintaining a soft, feminine appearance over time. Individual results may vary.

Patient 40 Breast Reconstruction Case #306

Description:
Following a diagnosis requiring mastectomy, this patient underwent bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies with immediate placement of tissue expanders as the first stage of breast reconstruction. During the expansion process, the breast skin and soft tissues were gradually prepared to accommodate her desired reconstruction goals. In a second-stage procedure, the tissue expanders were exchanged for silicone gel implants to create a softer, more natural look and feel.

Her after photos demonstrate restored breast volume, improved contour, and balanced symmetry while preserving the nipple-areola complex for a more natural aesthetic appearance. Careful attention was given to implant selection, breast shape, and overall proportion to achieve results that complement her frame. Individual outcomes following breast reconstruction vary based on anatomy, treatment history, healing characteristics, and surgical goals.

Patient 41 Breast Reconstruction Case #307

Description:

This patient underwent nipple-sparing mastectomies followed by staged breast reconstruction. The initial reconstructive phase utilized tissue expanders placed at the time of mastectomy to preserve the breast skin envelope and nipple-areolar complex while gradually restoring volume.

After completion of expansion and appropriate healing, the patient returned for a second-stage procedure in which the tissue expanders were exchanged for permanent silicone gel implants. This final stage refined breast shape, contour, and symmetry while maintaining the nipple-sparing approach.

The postoperative images demonstrate the progression from the immediate post-mastectomy state through staged reconstruction to the final result with silicone implants in place, highlighting restoration of breast form within the constraints of oncologic safety and reconstructive planning.

Description:

After undergoing bilateral mastectomies, this patient chose staged implant-based breast reconstruction to restore breast shape and symmetry. The reconstruction process began with placement of tissue expanders beneath the chest tissue and muscle, allowing the skin and soft tissues to gradually stretch and prepare for permanent implants. Over time, the expanders were carefully filled in the office to create the desired breast contour and volume.

Once expansion was complete, the patient underwent a second procedure to exchange the tissue expanders for smooth silicone gel implants. This stage provided a softer, more natural appearance and feel while refining overall shape and balance. To complete the reconstructive journey, the patient later received custom 3D nipple-areolar tattooing. Using advanced tattooing techniques, realistic color, shading, and dimension were created to give the appearance of a natural nipple-areolar complex without additional surgery.

These before-and-after photos highlight the transformative results that can be achieved through staged breast reconstruction and artistic finishing techniques. The final outcome reflects not only restoration of physical form, but also an important step in healing, confidence, and reclaiming a sense of wholeness after breast cancer treatment.

Patient 43 Breast Reconstruction Case #310

Description:
Following her diagnosis and surgical treatment plan, this patient underwent bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies with immediate direct-to-implant breast reconstruction using pre-pectoral implants. By preserving the native breast skin and nipples, this approach helps maintain a more natural breast appearance while allowing for complete breast reconstruction in a single stage. The implants were placed above the chest muscle in the pre-pectoral plane, which can help minimize animation deformity and support a more comfortable recovery for appropriate candidates.

Her postoperative results demonstrate restored breast volume and contour with good symmetry, projection, and preservation of the natural breast shape. The nipple-sparing technique, combined with careful reconstructive planning, allowed for an aesthetically balanced outcome while avoiding the need for tissue expanders or multiple staged procedures. These before-and-after photos highlight the results achievable with modern implant-based breast reconstruction techniques. Individual outcomes will vary based on anatomy, healing, and cancer treatment considerations.
